On the 14th May members of the pubic might be mistaken in thinking that a massive police operation is happening as business men and women from Portsmouth, Southampton and Fareham will be arrested for a variety of ‘crimes’.

The Rainbow Centre who came to the fore in March 2014 by launching a crisis appeal when depleted reserves meant they faced imminent closure is behind the arrests.

Lara Bull, Centre Director says “After the incredible success of our appeal we have been able to launch into our 25th Anniversary celebrations with confidence. The Jail & Bail event is one of our main fundraising events this year and we are hoping to ‘arrest’ 25 people and raise at least £25,000”.

Working with Officers from Hampshire Constabulary, prisoners will be arrested at their place of work in front of staff before being escorted in a van to a secret prison for the day  until bail money is raised.

Each prisoners bail money will be used to provide at least ten 2 hour sessions at the centre for children affected by Cerebral Palsy.

Companies signed up for arrests so far include: Paris Smith LLP, Solent Mobility, Ariel Communications, Matchtech Group,  BAE Systems, Vane Cross Training, DDB Physio, James Cowper, Fairways Care UK and the Daily Echo.
