Pop goes the cork at Port Solent’s Prosecco Festival

Saturday evening saw ladies, friends, couples and colleagues join together to have a party like no other at Port Solent’s first ever Prosecco Festival.

Guests entered the festival on a glamorous red carpet with a show-stopping welcome from topless male stilt walkers, the red carpet lady, an aerial acrobat performer and more. The highly anticipated event offered guests 13 different types of Prosecco hosted by Port Solent’s 17 bars and restaurants, with the opportunity for people to ‘pimp’ their Prosecco into a cocktail or fancier tipple. The event also boasted live swing singing from Riley Clark and covers of well-known, chart-topping radio hits from the FM Live duo, as well as vibrant entertainment including fire dancers, a Martini glass performer, Breeze FM’s photobooth taxi, magicians and more.

Lisa Fowler, Events, Marketing & Centre Administrator at Port Solent, said: “We are blown away by the success of our first Prosecco Festival. From the minute tickets were snapped up, there’s been a real buzz around it and I think that’s a testament to the popularity of Prosecco. Being able to bring Prosecco lovers from the region to Port Solent and put on such an entertaining event has been fantastic.

“Guests thoroughly enjoyed the live music and entertainment and certainly made the most of the hundreds of bottles of flowing bubbly. We’d like to thank all of our colleagues involved for working hard to make it happen and all of our guests for coming along – we hope everyone had a wonderful time.”

Guests also enjoyed taking part in new social media challenge, ‘Care To Limbo’. This involved visitors doing the limbo dance at a station set up next to Wildwood/Watermark, getting their friends to record them doing it, sharing it on social media and nominating friends/family to take part, all with the aim to raise money and awareness for four charities including Carers UK, Macmillan Cancer Support, Alzheimer’s Society and Crisis.

Leanne Saunders attended the Prosecco Festival and said: “It’s been absolutely wonderful, a really good night. The goody bags are brilliant.”
