Chosen Charity: Hayling RNLI manager receives cash from a dash at Sinah Warren

Lifeboat Operations manager Jonathan Bradbury recently met Martin Plummer (pictured) to receive a cheque raised in support of the Hayling RNLI Lifeboat Station.

Sinah Warren Coastal Hotel regularly raises money for charities, supporting one chosen by Warners, but then able to support local charities as well.

In 2017/18 they chose the RNLI, and specifically the Hayling Lifeboat Station.

At high season events e.g. Christmas and the New Year the hotel runs a ‘Dash for cash event’ where staff armed with buckets dash round the guests whilst music is played.

Guests lob cash into the buckets and when the music stops the cash collection ends. Over the year a considerable sum is raised and then the chosen charities receive a share.

Presenting a cheque for £1035 Martin Plummer said, ‘We always support local Island charities and the lifeboats are critical to Hayling, they are hugely important.’

Jonathan expressed his gratitude for this considerable sum of money which will help us to continue to save lives at sea.

The RNLI is one of The Directory Group's Chosen Charities for this year. For more information on the wonderful life-saving work of their volunteers, see their website at: www.rnli.org
