‘HEART OF THE HOSPICE’   TEAM LAUNCH ROWANS HOSPICE MOONLIT MEMORIES WALK 2019

The fundraising team of over twenty Rowans nurses and doctors, called ‘Heart of the Hospice’ are officially launching the Moonlit Memories Walk 2019 on Friday 26th April at 1.30pm. Marking the official opening of registration for the six or ten mile sponsored walk which will take place on Saturday 15th June in Portsmouth.

The event which raises vital funds for the Hospice, will be led by the ‘Heart of the Hospice’ fundraising team for Moonlit Memories Walk, made up of Rowans nurses and medical staff. Setting off from Castle Field, Southsea at 10pm, both routes are circular, taking in the illuminated scenery of Southsea, Old Portsmouth and the Historic Dockyard, including the HMS Victory which will be lit up especially for the occasion.

Rowans Hospice Moonlit Memories Walk is open to 1,000 walkers of all ages. Children aged 11- 16 are welcome but they must be accompanied by an adult.

Craig Willcock, Fundraiser Manager at Rowans Hospice, said: “This is a wonderful event that gives people in our community the opportunity to remember a close family member or friend, or simply the opportunity to take on a challenge whilst raising vital money to support Rowans Hospice. I would encourage people to sign up as soon as possible to secure their place and avoid disappointment, to what is always a really popular event.”

Registration is £20, with a suggested sponsorship target of £100. Alternatively, you can register on the night for £50. Register online at www.rowanshospice.co.uk/walk.

This year, the Moonlit Memories Walk is aiming to raise £125,000 for Rowans Hospice, a local charity that cost £6.5million each year to provide care for patients with life-limiting illness resident in Portsmouth and South-East Hants, their relatives and carers.
