QUEEN ALEXANDRA HOSPITAL PORTSMOUTH INTRODUCES PIONEERING ROBOTIC-ARM ASSISTED JOINT REPLACEMENT SURGERY

The Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth has announced that it is now offering Stryker Mako, the pioneering robotic-arm assisted surgery for knee replacements.

The addition of the latest technology highlights the hospital’s position as a centre of excellence. The robotic-arm will be used by surgeons in the private patient facility, “The Harbour Suite”.

The Hospital is adopting a new and innovative approach to partial and total knee replacements with the use of Stryker Mako robotic-arm assisted surgery. The Mako system offers a higher level of alignment and positioning1-3 during surgery, resulting in a speedier recovery and reduced post-operative pain. By using this latest advancement in surgical technology, patients can get back to their active lifestyle quicker, whether it be walking or a enjoying a game of golf.
