Raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness month, until you’re pink in the face for Breast Cancer Now’s Wear it Pink Day...You’ve heard the expression pink to make the boys wink, but on Friday October 19th we’ll be joining thousands of other people across the UK in wearing pink to make the boys and girls think, as it’s Breast Cancer Now’s wear it pink day as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Wear it Pink day is a great opportunity to rally friends, family, colleagues and classmates together to raise money for Breast Cancer Now, an organisation whose research aims to detect breast cancer earlier, treat it ef ciently, and work towards preventing the disease altogether. Since their rst event in 2002, Breast Cancer Now has raised over £31.5 million, and on October 19th you can help contribute even more to their fantastic cause.

Fun ways you can help...

Pink party at work

Everybody loves a bit of fancy dress, especially when there’s a theme! Have everyone at your workplace embrace their pink side and raise money from your of ce with a bake sale, a picnic where everyone contributes their lunch money and brings food to share, or even a pink fashion show with prizes for the best dressed.

Have a wild night in

Rather than painting the town red, paint yourselves pink and gather your friends and family for a cosy night in! You’ll save on the taxi fare and expensive food and drinks out, and instead you can donate the money you save.

Tickle the community pink

Get your local town involved in a communal coffee morning, a charity quiz night at the community centre or pub, or even a party in the park with a sponsored sports event, craft stalls and music!

Each year 55,000 women face breast cancer, and around 11,500 women will die from it. Breast Cancer Now is the largest breast cancer charity in the UK, and they believe that if we act now, by 2050 everyone who develops the disease will live.

Here at The Directory Group, we will be raising money in our pink attire on the 19th October, as well as donating £5 from every order made during October to Breast Cancer Care. To make a donation, visit our JustGiving page: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/The-Directory-Group
