Keep Dancing In 2015 - The Directory Group

The Dance-a-thon for The Rowans Hospice is back for a third year. This six-hour dance marathon takes place on Saturday 21st February from 6pm to midnight at Portsmouth Guildhall and features six different dance styles.

The Dance-a-thon is open to anyone over the age of 16, dancers of all abilities are invited to take part in this sponsored event and raise money for local hospice care. Each dance style is taught by an expert and will be easy to follow; therefore no previous dance training is necessary. Featuring for the first time is Lindy Hop and back by popular demand is a Musicals Medley featuring the iconic Hairspray routine to ‘You Can’t Stop the Beat’. The other dance styles are Disco, Line Dancing, Cuban Salsa and Bokwa.

Sophie Gunner, Events Fundraiser at The Rowans Hospice, said: “This is a great fun-filled challenge so pull on your lycra and legwarmers and join in! We have six fabulous dance teachers and a fantastic party soundtrack to dance the night away. If you want to enter as a team, you can tag in and out or challenge your team to complete the whole six hours.”

Barefoot Wine will be providing a complimentary glass of wine to all participants over the age of 18 and everyone will receive a medal at the end of the event. It costs £10 per person to register.
