The Halloween Fair Open Day At Fort Widley - The Directory Group

The Halloween Fair & Open Day at Fort Widley

Fort Widley was built in 1861 deep within Portsdown Hill to defend Portsmouth from land and sea. Over the years there have been many reports of unexplained activity and ghostly going’s on deep within the tunnels of the fort. If you’re into Spooky Stories then Fort Widley is the place to be this Halloween.

The Halloween Fair and Open Day has something for the whole family. You will be able to meet some characters from out Ghost walks which include the Duke of Buckingham and Tudor Ghosts. There will be lots of activities including Pumpkin making, Tarot Readers, fancy dress competition for the kids, spooky refreshments and if you think you’re brave enough, why not enter the forts spooky labyrinth of tunnels and take a lantern tour searching for the famous spooking goings on that have been reported. If you’re lucky you might get to hear the footsteps made by a former prisoner or the ghostly whistle of a Sargent Major. Entry is free so come down and join in the fun on Saturday 24th October at Fort Widley Portsdown Hill Road.
