Crafty Christmas cracker
Local talent and festive spirit proved the perfect combination, as the Cowplain community created a cracking Christmas display at The Rowans Hospice Shop.
All items on display in the shop window have been created by volunteers and customers of the busy charity craft shop.
The Trading Company Shops have all been getting in to the festive spirit, designing exciting window displays to entice shoppers inside.
North End shop manager Russell has also been crafting busily and will appear on the Christmas Jumper section of Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas on Tuesday 15th December at 8pm on Channel 4.
The Cowplain shop specialises in craft items, all of which have been donated to the charity. There is a wide range of stock including wool, fabric, sewing accessories, dressmaking patterns, craft books and magazines, papercraft, buttons and ribbons and accessories for vintage sewing machines.
Julie and her team of volunteers also make things to sell including cushions and pincushion dogs. A small range of craft accessories is also available at the charity’s North End shop.
Cowplain shop manager Julie Bennett said: “The window display depicts Santa’s workshop and there are lots and lots of elves in various guises who are busily creating all of the toys for children to receive on Christmas Day.
“The support that we have received is fantastic and I hope that lots of people will come along and see the display. If they are inspired to create their own Christmas decoration, we have a wide range of crafting products so there is something for all abilities.”
All profits from The Rowans Hospice Trading Company are used to support the work that takes place at the hospice.
The Cowplain Shop is located at 63 London Road, Cowplain, PO8 8UJ
