Burning desire to support good causes
A dedicated fundraiser from Waterlooville has set his sights on an extreme challenge to support two causes close to his heart.
Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service watch manager Craig Sadler was presented with the service’s Charity Award in November in recognition of his charity exploits to date.
But, with his burning desire to support good causes is stronger than ever, on Saturday 23rd April, Craig and a team of firefighters, dressed in fire kit and breathing apparatus will carry a 10.5m ladder the 13 miles from Horndean Fire station to Gunwharf Quays, in aid of The Firefighters Charity and Football for Cancer.
Speaking to TDG about the inspiration behind the challenge, Craig explained: “I feel I am privileged enough to be able to give my time to help others less fortunate than myself! Through my charity events I have met some wonderful people and made lifelong friends.
“I enjoy the personal aspect of the challenge as well, I personally think it’s good to push yourself. The two charities that I am raising money for are close to my heart and I have seen first-hand the difference they make to people’s lives.”
