Recipe for success

An award-winning director and an acclaimed play are set to create the perfect recipe for success as Winton Players return to the Petersfield Festival Hall stage in April.

In ‘Amy’s View’, by David Hare and directed by John Mill, Eileen Riddiford makes a welcome return to the stage as Esme Allen, a famous West End actress whose career is on the slide. The eponymous role of Amy, her daughter, is taken by Francesca Williams.

Ryan Watts assumes the role of Amy’s TV writer boyfriend, and dispensing financial advice circa the Lloyds names debacle is Frank Oddie, played by John Edwards.

Jane Blower is the grandmother and taking the cameo role of Toby Cole, a young actor, at the end of the play is Ed Sheehan, last seen as a Bovver Bou Bunny in the Players’ recent pantomime.

This intriguing play - a heady cocktail of love, theatre and the complexities of relationships - illustrates just how much pretence enters into real life as well as on stage, with all the emotional turmoil involved.

Amy’s View plays at the Festival Hall from Thursday 14th – Saturday 16th April. To book tickets and find out more, go to
