Making strides

Local fundraisers of all ages are being invited to put their best foot forward and show their support for Portsmouth Hospitals Charity in WardWalk 2016.

Choose between a beautiful 5K or 10K walk in aid of a ward or department within Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust of your choice or The Rocky Appeal.

Taking place on Sunday 22nd May at Staunton Country Park, Havant (10.30am-12.30pm), the event is £2 per person to register, with a suggested minimum sponsorship of just £15.

A great family day out for all, WardWalk will include an exciting warm up by fitness instructors from David Lloyd, a cake sale for the charity as well as a refreshment stall, a snack bar, a picnic area and free parking. Staunton Country Park is also offering 50% off of Staunton Farm tickets on the day for those taking part.

Portsmouth Hospitals Charity are also looking for volunteers to help out on the day for approximately three to four hours with marshalling the walking route, registering walkers, selling cakes and car parking.

Victoria Greenshields, fundraising manager for Portsmouth Hospitals Charity, said: “The WardWalk will be a fantastic opportunity for the local community to rally together in support of their local hospital. The event will be a fun-filled day with all funds raised being used to benefit current and future patients being treated within Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust.”
