A Helping Hand For The Homeless - The Directory Group

A helping hand for the homeless

Winchester is offering a vital helping hand for the homeless with a refreshed campaign backed by the city’s council and business community.

Winchester BID and Winchester City Council have relaunched the Spare Change for Real Change campaign, which aims to support two local charities, Winchester Churches Nightshelter and Trinity Winchester.

The project not only collects money for the charities - the best possible way to help homeless people in Winchester - but also encourages the public to give to the collection boxes rather than directly to people on the street.

Donations are used to help the homeless in a number of ways, from providing a warm bed and a place to stay, to serving hot and nutritious meals, to training courses which will give homeless people the helping hand they need to turn their lives around.

If you are a business who would be interested in having a Spare Change collection box or “text to donate” sticker in your premises, please contact Amy Sheppard at amy.sheppard@winchesterbid.co.uk

To donate now, text Real17 £2/£5/£10 to 70070 (plus standard network charge).
