Summer Holiday Spending
With summer just around the corner, there are many ways to start planning ahead to ensure that you don’t splash too much cash whether you are spending your summer holidays at home or away.
If you are planning on relaxing at home this summer, organise cheaper days and nights with friends. Rather than going out to eat or drink, make the most of the long summer days with barbeques, singing around the fire and games nights. Hosting your own events and staying in on a budget will save you money and you’ll have a blast too! Before splashing out on huge days out, realise that your children just want to spend valuable time together as a family.
Take time to research into your community events and see what is on offer locally. Here at TDG we love to keep you updated with the best things going on locally each month so take a look at out ‘What’s On’ page to find out more!
Go outside and enjoy the sunshine. There are lots of beautiful country parks, tennis courts and sports areas, playgrounds, skate parks and beaches locally that you can explore for free. Take advantage of the warm weather and spend your time exploring in the outdoors – go biking, walking and hiking, and it won’t cost you a penny.
If you’re jetting off on holiday abroad, remember to research and pick your holiday dates sensibly to save money. Try to avoid peak times as different weeks and months of the summer can be significantly cheaper than others. If you don’t mind flying, even consider an indirect flight. Make sure you weigh and measure your luggage at home to avoid paying additional charges in the airport too.
