Hayling Island Beach Blue Flag

The Beachlands beach at Hayling Island has been awarded the Blue Flag for the 25th year in a row.

The Blue Flag is an international award presented to well managed beaches with excellent water quality, safety, access and environmental education programmes.

Across the UK 68 beaches have received the award.

The Blue Flag award scheme is now a global award, and overseen in the UK by the charity Keep Britain Tidy. 

Paul Todd, costal award manager for Keep Britain Tidy, says everyone should have quality to quality outdoor spaces.

He said: “Keep Britain Tidy works with people and organisations who share our vision that everyone should have access to quality outdoor spaces where they live, work and holiday.

“The public can be sure, if they visit a Blue Flag or Seaside Award winning beach, that they are visiting one of the best beaches in the world.”
