East Hampshire District car parks scrap surcharge on parking meters

Visitors paying for parking with a credit or debit card in East Hampshire District car parks will have no surcharge added to their ticket price.

The changes to the councils parking meters came in to effect on 13th January.

A change with the law will mean extra charges imposed by card companies for using the Plastic can no longer be passed on to the customer.

The district council adjusted its meters to remove the charge of around 22p per ticket.
