Ditcham Juniors Hit the Slopes
A group of Ditcham Park School Juniors recently departed for Claviere, Italy, for an exciting ski trip.
The day they arrived the resort had over a foot of snow, followed by glorious sunshine, creating perfect conditions.
The students had a fantastic time and after their ski lessons they spent their evenings participating in fun activities such as creating snow slides and tunnels, bum-boarding and riding skidoos up the mountain with a break for hot chocolate and crepes.
They also spent an evening snow-shoeing by torchlight, crossing the border into France at Montgenevre.
On their final evening the group took part in a torchlit descent.
After catching the last lift-up the mountain and enjoying pizza and more hot chocolate, the children were given electric lanterns, similar to the Olympic torches, with the colours replicating the Italian flag.
When it was completely dark they set off down the mountain – a wonderful spectacle.
Ski trips are very special opportunities and this trip has once again given the pupils a wonderful experience and many precious memories.
