Fundraiser set to take on London Marathon in aid of charity
A fundraiser is set to tackle the London Marathon to raise money for Treloar School and College.
Katherine Mays, who is employed at the charity, says what they offer is amazing and she is keen to support.
She said: “This amazing school provides specialist education, care, therapy, medical support and independence training to young people with physical disabilities and learning difficulties.
“With access to specialist equipment, opportunities and staff the students gain confidence and independence skills, so they can realise their potential in life.”
“The money I raise from this event will give these young people the opportunity to explore and achieve much more than they ever would have imagined possible through gaining as much independence as they can - this could be learning to communicate, to drive their own wheelchair, to dress themselves or accessing a computer for the first time.
“The money I raise could also be used for supplying the school with specialist physiotherapy equipment such as walking frames and standing frames.
“Recently I was able to see my 13-year-old sister walk for the first time unaided after a life changing operation and round the clock physiotherapy and support supplied by specialist staff and your money could make the same impact on a young person’s life and family.”
Katherine has set herself a target of £2,000 and has set up a just giving page at: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/katherine-mays
