Have your say on important school transport link
There is still time for you to have your say on plans to reduce the council’s transport to school scheme, with the deadline on Tuesday 13th March.
That’s the message to parents by Hampshire County Council as the proposal will affect around 1,000 pupils.
This number of pupils are children the council is not required to transport to and from school by law, it has said.
“The proposed changes, if agreed, would lead to a reduction in transport services that are provided at the council’s discretion – above and beyond what the council is legally required to deliver”, a spokesperson from the council has said.
“This applies to under 1,000 young people who the council has supported either through local policy elements that go beyond the statutory minimum or based on a family’s individual circumstances.”
Opinions may be expressed via the council’s online consultation which can be found at: www.hants.gov.uk/consultations
