Clanfield Gardening Club provides so much more than just a social
Members of the community are being encouraged to join the Clanfield Gardening Club which meets monthly.
The team, who gather on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at Petersgate School, at 7:30pm, provide an opportunity for garden enthusiasts to share interests and learn new things.
Established for more than 30 years, their aim is to develop the love of gardening in the village and the surrounding area.
“You don't have to have a large garden or be a good gardener to attend – just a love and enthusiasm for plants and gardening” they say.
“The Committee organise a varied programme of interesting talks, social evenings and competitions; our meetings are a hub where you can meet likeminded people, ask questions and receive advice and encouragement to enable you to reach your gardening goals.”
The group encourage residents to make the village as green and colourful as possible.
Next month, there will be an Annual Show which is always a highlight of the year covering a variety of gardening areas.
Photographs and afternoon teas with a raffle, shields, cups and trophies are presented to winners which include children's categories.
Members subscription is £3 per meeting which includes refreshments. Guests are always welcome.
