Langstone Adventure Rowing Club, Undertakes a Daring Journey on Cat-Naps!
The journey aimed to undertake a daring row from Jersey to Southampton to raise funds for the city’s children’s emergency and trauma department appeal. The team of Hayling Island rowers trained for 18 months and are pleased to announce that they have now completed the event!
It was a fabulous journey. The team were tested on their rowing skills, physical strength and endurance. Although one rower becomes injured, it is safe to say that each member dealt the hazards and challenges with determination and courage.
You will be pleased to know that J2S are currently raising money to build a state-of-the-art £5.1 million-pound facility for the children and aims to bed 30,000 youngers every year. To fund the project, Southampton Hospital Charity has partnered with the Murray Parish Trust which aims to raise £2 million for the project. J2S have currently raised over £30,000 so far!
