Gingerbread Martini Recipe
The festive fusion of gingerbread combined with a traditional espresso martini:
The clink of celebratory glasses is one of the greatest sounds there is as you toast the festive season with your loved ones. You can truly wow your guests with this signature cocktail, which combines the sweet taste of gingerbread to complement the flavour of the coffee.
Ingredients (makes two cocktails)
- Cocktail shaker and strainer
- Ice cubes
- 50ml vodka (either traditional vodka, or a flavoured vodka such as vanilla or chocolate will give additional flavour)
- 25ml coffee liqueur
- 25ml of espresso
- 10ml of gingerbread syrup
- Coffee beans
- Ginger biscuits (crumbled)
Begin by making an espresso, either with a coffee machine or by adding 20ml of water to 5ml of instant coffee. Set this aside to cool slightly.
Half fill your cocktail shaker with ice, and then add all the other ingredients.
Shake for around 30 seconds, and then strain into a chilled martini glass.
Sprinkle a handful of coffee beans and crushed ginger biscuits onto the drink and serve.
If you’re not a lover of ginger but like the idea of an alternative espresso martini, why not swap the gingerbread syrup for vanilla, peppermint or orange? You’ll still get the lovely kick of coffee, but with a sweetness to suit your own preference!
