Here are 10 ways to give yourself a little love...
It's Valentine's Day on February 14th but as well as showing the love you have for others, why not practise a little self-care too?
Here are 10 ways to give yourself a little love:
Turn off and look inwards.
Switch off the television and your phone, grab a hot drink or a healthy smoothie, snuggle up in a comfy chair and just take stock. Think about
your dreams, your plans and how you might realise them.
There are huge psychological benefits to creating and crafting. Join a pottery or painting class, try a basket-making or blacksmithing workshop, or start writing. Creativity taps into something deep inside us.
Go for a walk.
Britain has the most beautiful countryside and we are blessed with a vast network of footpaths and lanes. Be mindful of crop fields (and livestock) and take a reusable water bottle. Look at the trees and plants, watch and listen for wildlife, and feel the breeze on your skin. Take some deep breaths and fill your lungs with fresh air.
Treat yourself to a massage.
Massage is fantastic for relaxation, getting rid of aches and pains, and improving circulation.
Make a Good Things Jar.
Get a large jar, and every day write on a scrap of paper one good thing about your day, then put it into the jar. At the end of the year, read all those lovely happy thoughts.
Stop the comparisons.
You are you, and you are...Lovely!
Put your favourite song on and dance!
Up your intake of dark green leafy veg. Your body will love you for it.
Ask for a hug. Hugs make us happy and the love goes both ways!
Learn to say no, yes you can do it!
