The Petersfield Arts & Crafts Society
The Petersfield Arts & Crafts Society is well known locally for its summer exhibition in the Festival Hall in August but they also offer opportunities to come to monthly demonstrations and regular workshops throughout the year.
Membership (only £25 a year) allows free admission to monthly talks and discounted rates, along with priority booking for workshop participation. This year some of the Crafts Society sessions booked up fully during the members’ priority window in January. Young adults (under 21) are very welcome and can take part in workshops at half price.
Non-members are also very welcome to join us, both at monthly meetings (£2 on the door) and at workshops.
The Petersfield Arts & Crafts Society February meeting was hosted by their own potters who kindly brought along clay and equipment for the whole group to have a go and dip in to make a giant collaborative ‘pot’.
The Society’s workshop schedule is booking up fast but there are still places left from June onwards. Their coordinator has organised a diverse selection of professional artists and craftspeople to teach this year and bookings are taken through their website. All workshops take place on a Saturday at the Liss Triangle Centre.
In the summer months the Craft Society also have sketching days which are a relaxed occasion to enjoy working outdoors in your favourite medium alongside other members.
Recently they had the very popular Jake Winkle teach a watercolour workshop and some beautiful paintings were produced.
