Listen very carefully – I shall only say this once.. ‘Allo ‘Allo comes to Titchfield

Following on from the success of comedy shows such as Blackadder, Steptoe & Son and Rising Damp, Titchfield Festival Theatre welcomes to the stage ‘Allo ‘Allo this November.

‘Allo, ‘Allo was written by legendary comedy duo, Jeremy Lloyd and David Croft. Based on the iconic British television series that ran for seven seasons, this hugely popular comedy recounts the adventures of a hapless café owner, René Artois in occupied France. You can see all of your favourite TV characters in the flesh, including René’s tone-deaf wife Edith, Michelle of the Resistance and the Gestapo officer Herr Flick, in this not to be missed uproarious comedy.

The production is based on the TV series, specially adapted for the stage. Audiences will remember and love the humour from the original programmes, watched by millions in its heyday. Watch as the unlucky René gets involved in one absurd situation after another, including the hilarious scene when he tries to hide the painting The Fallen Madonna with the Big Boobies in some knockwurst sausages.

Kevin Fraser, Artistic Director of Titchfield Festival Theatre said, “’Allo ‘Allo is without doubt one of the best and funniest British TV comedies of all time. The cast have had a great deal of fun practising the French accents as well as rehearsing the many comical scenes. However, like many of the best comedies, the story reflects a serious side of life; and of course the German occupation of France was no laughing matter.

Kevin continued, “Although ‘Allo ‘Allo was first broadcast way back in the early eighties, this is a show which will appeal to all ages – guaranteeing a couple of hours of laughs, slapstick humour and outrageously funny situations. We cannot wait for the show to start!”

‘Allo ‘Allo opens on Wednesday 6th November until Saturday 16th November 2019 at 7.30pm in the Oak Theatre, Titchfield Festival Theatre, St Margarets Lane, Titchfield PO14 4BG. Matinee performance: Sunday 10th November at 2.30pm.
