A Positive Start in 2020 for You and Rowans Hospice

Rowans Hospice have announced their exciting calendar of fundraising events for 2020. Offering everything from adrenaline filled adventures, to sporting challenges to community quizzes.

Launching the new calendar of events, Craig Willcock, Rowans Fundraising and Events Manager, encouraged everyone to; “Sign up today to make a positive start in 2020 for you and your community Hospice.”

If your New Year’s Resolution is to get fitter or faster, one of Rowans sporting challenges could be a great motivator. You can sign up for one of Rowans charity places in the Great South Run on 18 October, or you can take on the Rowans Ride cycle challenge route on 6 September.

Rowans Hospice is also offering an early bird rate of just £10 if you register before 31 January, to take part in the Moonlit Memories Walk. Providing a perfect reason to start training for the 6 or 10 mile route around Southsea, Old Portsmouth and the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard on 16 May.

For the adrenaline junkie, Rowans Hospice has series of skydives arranged throughout the year, with the first happening on the 29 March or you can abseil down the Spinnaker Tower on 4 July.

Craig also announced: “If throwing yourself from a plane or running long distance isn’t your thing, fear not. A range of community events are also planned throughout the year ranging from quiz nights and a Spring Market to a concert with Beverley Craven and a Charity Ball, hosted by the Mayor of Fareham. Alternatively, if you have a specific challenge you want to complete, why not do it raising money Rowans. Just let us know and we will support you with fundraising ideas and advice and by providing you with everything from balloons to collection buckets.”

He added: “By committing to an event today or by volunteering for Rowans, to help make these events happen, you can fulfil your own personal New Year’s Resolution and help to ensure that care is available for patients and families affected by life-limiting illnesses, within your local community.”
